About Me

I was elected as county councillor for Kenilworth Abbey Division in May 2005 on my first attempt to win the seat, retained my seat in June 2009, and again in May 2013 with an increased majority..

On the County Council I am the Liberal Democrats’ spokesperson for Children & Young People, and am a member of the Communities Overview & Scrutiny Committee.

I’ve led the Connect2 Kenilworth/Greenway walking and cycling project since its inception in 2007, through to its completion at the end of 2012. I’m a Cycling Champion for the County Council, and am working to advance other important schemes in the local area such as K2L (the Kenilworth to Leamington Cycling project).

I chaired the Kenilworth Youth & Community Centre Management Committee from 2008 onwards, and steered the Centre through its transfer from the County Council to the new theKenileworth Centre charity in April 2012. I now act a chair of the trustees for the charity.

I represent Kenilworth Abbey Division on the Kenilworth Community Forum. I regularly attend meetings of the Burton Green Parish Council and the Burton Green Residents Association.

I have been a governor of St. John’s Primary School Nursery & Children’s Centre since 2003.

My wife Ann and I have lived in Kenilworth since 1979. We have three grown-up children and three grandchildren, two of whom are going through Kenilworth schools. I worked in the international automotive parts business until taking early retirement in 2001.

I am on the Executive of Kenilworth & Southam Liberal Democrats, and was constituency agent in the 2010 general election campaign.
